When we are inducted in to tabling, we hear phrases like ‘You will find friends wherever you go”. ” International Relationship is one of the Pillars of Tabling’ and so on.
These phrases are listened to, and in most cases forgotten as the time passes by as we get into routine of tabling.
After two years as a tabler, I was falling in the same rut and took tabling as just another routine work.
Then, I happened to visit Europe on business trip in Sept.,07. I was visiting 3-4 countries and had some appointment free evenings . Casually and not really believing it, I went to R.T. International web site and got the contact info of the tables in the cities I was visiting, I introduced myself to them and asked whether they would be free to meet me on so and so date. I got the replies immediately from all the tables! That got me interested.
RT-37, Brescia, Italy
My first visit was to Brescia a town near Milan, Italy. After reaching these I called up IRO Tr. Cristoforo of RT 37, and incidentally the only guy who would speak some English! He said his tablers were all very excited to see me and planned a dinner for me in the evening.
I look my local business contact Enrico alongwith me to meet the tablers of RT 37, Italy. First,. We went to Treplay bar for drinks where I met the tablers and was introduced to them by Tr. Cristoforo. From there, off we went to a traditional Italian Restaurant, G.A. Portari, which was a regular meeting place for RT 37, These I was welcomed by 11 present tablers and two 41′ers Tr.Andrea Zerneri Secretary Area I was also there, Chairman Tr. Marco Zerneri officially welcomed me. Then along with the excellent 5 course dinner, we shared the tabling activities of our tables. They showed much interest in FTE and were impressed to know about our find raiser Mega Kids Carniwal
We exchanged the table Flags & pins, each of the tabler signed the flag and wrote message for our tablers . I was all so gifted some CD’s and Italian Tabling directory.
I introduced my business associate Enrico to them and he was so impressed that he wanted to join the table. So, after giving RT-37 one prospective tabler, I left them around 1 AM with lots of bye-byes and goodwill.
